Job Description
The Licensed Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The Journeyman will serve as a mentor to apprentices and helpers, ensuring that all work performed meets NEC codes, project specifications, and company standards.
This is a hands-on field position within Clients supporting key projects in aviation, healthcare, higher education, and transportation. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about electrical craftsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including conduit, wiring, lighting, panels, transformers, and controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical diagrams to plan layout and installation.
• Perform work in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety policies.
• Lead and direct apprentices and helpers, ensuring quality workmanship and efficient use of materials.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
• Test electrical systems using proper instruments to ensure functionality and safety.
• Install and maintain low-voltage systems such as data, communications, security, and fire alarm systems.
• Complete work orders, documentation, and daily reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and positive work environment.

Additional Responsibilities
• Assist in planning material needs and forecasting labor for assigned tasks.
• Provide feedback on drawings, layouts, and field conditions to project engineers or managers.
• Participate in Clients on-site inspections and quality control reviews.
• Support continuous improvement by helping identify process and safety enhancements.
• Represent Company with professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients and partners.

Qualifications
• Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required.
• Minimum 4–6 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, building codes, and electrical safety practices.
• Experience working from drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Proficient with conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminations.
• Ability to operate electrical testing and measuring instruments.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to work overtime or night shifts when required by project schedule.
