Turner Industries Group is looking for an
Electrician to join our nested maintenance crew at a site in the Mont Belvieu, TX area.
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Must have at least a Texas state Apprentice Electrician license
- regular 4 10 schedule with occasional overtime and callouts, overtime paid at time-and-a-half rate.
- Fabricate/install conduit, pull wire, install lighting, and terminate. Demo old electrical infrastructure
- NCCER highly preferred
General Job Description
Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems apparatuses and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazard, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety system. Maintain current electricians license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Qualification Standards
- Four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
- Written pre-employment qualification test
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
- Job site orientation
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place
Tools/Equipment
Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, slide cutter, channel locks, adjustable wrench, torpedo level, diagonal or stakon pliers, needle nose pliers, allen wrenches, voltage tester, electrician's knife, rule, pencil, tool pouch, fillister screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, crescent wrenches, hacksaw, and rain suit.
