Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer – Level I to join our growing team in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will perform radiation effects testing on electronic components and systems to assess their performance and survivability in both natural and man-made radiation environments — including applications for terrestrial, airborne, and space systems.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense and space technologies. Direct radiation testing experience is not required — full training will be provided. What’s essential is a solid understanding of electronics, a hands-on approach to testing and design, and a passion for problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement electrical test setups for radiation effects testing.
- Evaluate and analyze electrical test results for accuracy, validity, and statistical relevance.
- Design circuits and perform testing based on data sheets and specifications.
- Document findings and generate technical reports and test plans.
- Support projects involving radiation tolerance and system survivability for electronic systems used in defense, nuclear, and space applications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to refine test methodologies and enhance testing efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (due to government and defense-related work).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Degrees in Engineering or Physics with relevant experience will also be considered.
- BSEET candidates with strong hands-on experience are welcome to apply.
- 0–3 years of related experience in an electrical or electronics engineering environment.
- Analog circuit design experience required.
- Solid understanding of electronic components (diodes, transistors, capacitors, resistors, memories, etc.) and how they function.
- Ability to design circuits and test to component data sheets.
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Co-op or internship experience in electronics testing, analog/digital circuit design, or related lab environments.
- Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STDs) for testing or qualification processes.
- Curiosity about how electronics behave in extreme conditions — from ballistics to satellites.
Why Join
- Be part of a highly skilled engineering team advancing the performance and reliability of mission-critical systems.
- Work on real-world defense and space projects that have a global impact.
- Gain hands-on training in radiation effects testing — a rare and highly specialized field.
- Contribute to technologies that help shape the future of aerospace and defense innovation.
